About Goodwill

At Goodwill, we help people build independence.

Headquartered in Spokane, Washington, Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest is one of more than 180 members of Goodwill Industries International, one of the five largest nonprofit social services agencies in the world. We serve individuals throughout central and eastern Washington and northern Idaho. Many we serve have physical or developmental disabilities, mental health impairments, a lack of work skills and history, a record of earlier incarceration, or homelessness, while others are transitioning from dependence on public assistance to self-sufficiency. In addition to job training and job placement in many fields, Goodwill helps families coordinate resources from multiple agencies and operates specialized programs to meet needs in the communities we serve.

Our modern retail stores located throughout the Inland Northwest support our programs and services while offering fun and practical bargains for shoppers of every income level. When neighbors donate gently used items, they become treasures for others.

Sometimes referred to as "the original recycler" Goodwill annually keeps 5000 tons of material out of the waste stream, just in the Inland Northwest. We have special programs for recycling metal, books, and shoes, as well as clothing and textiles we cannot re-sell. Despite our efforts, disposing of unusable items still takes funds away from our programs and services. To those who donate just gently used, nearly new items others will buy, thank you.
