Goodwill celebrates Grand Opening of South Hill Goodwill store

(Spokane, WA) – After much anticipation, Goodwill Industries celebrated the Grand Opening of their newest store in Spokane, located at 2927 E. 27th Avenue on the South Hill on September 19. A line reached around the side of the building, with eager shoppers waiting for the doors to open.

Goodwill leased the 50% Off Card Shop location and Stanycks Nursery lot early this summer. “We have been looking for just the right property on the South Hill for some time now,” said Heather Alexander, Director of Marketing. “This is a great location for us to place a retail store, and also a new Donation site. We’ve been hearing much anticipation from friends who live on the south hill.”

The store boasts approximately 6000 square feet of retail space. Shoppers and neighbors alike were amazed at the interior of the store. “This new store is beautiful.”

The South Hill store makes a dozen Goodwill retail stores in the Eastern Washington and North Idaho. This is the first retail store Goodwill has opened in over a decade. They opened an Outlet Store in November 2013.

Sales of donated goods in these stores support the workforce development, training, assessment, mentoring, and veteran housing programs provided by Goodwill in 23 local counties. “Our stores exist solely to fund the work we do to help people in our communities overcome barriers to independence,” says Alexander.
