The Career and Resource Center provides information, access to resources, and referrals to other community resources. The Career and Resource Center serves as a WorkSource Spokane Affiliate site and is open to the public three days a week, offering customers access to all WorkSource online resources. Professional staff assistance is available to help customers navigate online research or job searches and give guidance and training at the Career and Resource Center. Staff will also assist customers with self-directed job searches, résumé preparation, and online job applications.

Group supported employment
Under the guidance of a Goodwill job coach, individuals with disabilities work together on various tasks. The job coach is able to analyze their tasks, train them on their duties, and provide retraining and other support as needed. Available in Moses Lake.

Individual supported employment
Participants work at sites in the community, supported by job coaches as needed. Supports may include help navigating the workplace, communicating and problem solving with supervisors and coworkers, understanding paychecks, and developing a workflow.  Available in Spokane, Moses Lake, Coeur d’Alene, Ponderay, Moscow, and Lewiston.

Job coaching and retention services
Once a program participant has obtained employment, a Goodwill job coach may work side-by-side with him or her to learn and master job duties. Participants discover how to maintain employment by learning to work well with others and meet workplace expectations. Available in Spokane, Moses Lake, East Wenatchee, Coeur d’Alene, Ponderay, Moscow, Lewiston, and Newport.

Job placement services
Staff assist participants in identifying appropriate openings, preparing a résumé, practicing interview skills, and completing applications. Staff may contact prospective employers to find appropriate job openings and, as needed, participate in the interviewing process. Sometimes staff assist with on-the-job training. Available in Spokane, Moses Lake, Colville, East Wenatchee, Coeur d’Alene, Ponderay, Moscow, Lewiston, and Newport.

Job search assistance
Goodwill staff help participants explore different kinds of positions and locate job openings that are possible good matches. Participants learn to use various resources, which may include the Internet. Available in Spokane, Moses Lake, East Wenatchee, Coeur d’Alene, Ponderay, Moscow, Lewiston, and Newport.

Next Generation Zone
As a partner in the Spokane Workforce Consortium, Goodwill participates in the Next Generation Zone, which serves at-risk youth 16 to 24. The Next Generation Zone provides employment training, work experience, job placement, and other services. This program is funded under the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act. Vocational counseling
Members of Goodwill’s Workforce & Family Services staff use their formal training and experience to assist participants as they set realistic career goals, identify steps to reach them, and identify and overcome potential barriers to successful employment, such as family or transportation issues. Available in Spokane, Moses Lake, Coeur d’Alene, Ponderay, Moscow, and Lewiston.
