Donations At Work

"What Happens to My Donations?"

Have you ever wondered what happens to reusable items you donate to Goodwill?

Household goods are collected by Goodwill employees at our stores and at Attended Donation Centers located throughout the Inland Northwest. For locations, please see Where to Donate on this site.

Items are sorted by category then readied for sale in our retail stores. Experienced employees price them as low as possible so our store customers can find great bargains of every type.

Proceeds from the sale of donated goods fund Goodwill's Workforce Development and Social Services programs. Participants in our programs learn job skills, gain experience, get assistance finding jobs, or receive other services that help them build independence. Each year Goodwill helps more than 2500 people with barriers, right here in the Inland Northwest.

Some who come to Goodwill for services are job-seekers with physical, mental or developmental disabilities…others are motivated workers who lack job skills, experience, and self-confidence… still others need assistance managing the resources available to them and their families.

"Goodwill gave me a second chance and believed in me. Now I have a better life."  Goodwill Graduate

Goodwill's programs and services are tailored for individuals as they set goals and pursue their dreams.

We are very proud of the fact that out of every $1.00 we take in, 85˘ funds our programs.

And we are very appreciative of every donor who gives gently used items to Goodwill. Our success would not be possible without generous people in the communities we serve.

We hope you feel good when you donate something you no longer use but a friend or neighbor might like to buy at a Goodwill bargain price. You're helping people and your community.

Thank you!
