What to Donate

Goodwill gratefully receives reusable, gently used items from people and businesses throughout the Inland Northwest. When you donate something you no longer use---but someone else might like to buy---you help fund Goodwill's programs that help people build independence. Bargains in Goodwill stores help families stretch their dollars.

And instead of throwing reusable items away, you help our environment!

Items that are especially valued:

  • Furniture that is in good condition
  • Housewares such as lamps, dishes, decorative accessories
  • Art and collectibles
  • Small electrical appliances and electronics such as working VCRs
  • Sporting goods
  • Coats
  • Clothing, shoes and sportswear in good repair
  • Books in good condition
  • Linens that are clean and are not ripped or stained

Some items are not practical, safe, or legal for us to process and re-sell. We regret having to decline any donated goods and appreciate your understanding. We are unable to accept the following:

  • Paint and chemicals
  • Large appliances (refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, water softeners, stoves, or hot water tanks)
  • Stained, torn or damaged coil mattresses; king size mattresses; Beauty Rest mattresses because of the separate coils
  • Tubs, toilets or sinks
  • Stained or soiled carpets
  • Tires or rims

If you have items you are not sure we can accept, please contact the Goodwill nearest you. We appreciate people in our communities who support our efforts to reuse everything we can while keeping our disposal costs as low as possible. Every dollar we spend on disposal fees is a dollar that could have assisted our program participants in building independence.

Thanks for thinking of Goodwill and thanks for donating items your friends and family would buy.
